Community Volunteer Specialist, USGBC
Prior to USGBC, Colin White worked extensively in the public sector. He previously managed the Pittsburgh office of LIFT and was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs. At LIFT, Colin directed a social service agency staffed by volunteers dedicated to serving low-income families. During this time, Colin trained and managed seventy volunteers who provided free case management services to over eight hundred families. Through the Coro Center for Civic Leadership, Colin provided consulting services to a variety of organizations including Pittsburgh City Council, the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh, and Family Services of Western Pennsylvania. Additionally, Colin comes with extensive organizational development experience – sitting on the Board of Directors for the Young Preservationists Association and as a former Pittsburgh city commissioner tasked with identifying programmatic and policy opportunities for young adults within Pittsburgh.
Colin recently earned his M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and enjoys good games of tennis and backgammon
